No. 15 Seattle U men’s soccer will clinch the Western Athletic Conference regular season title, their second in three years (2013) with a win on Sunday. The Redhawks also currently have the second most wins among Division I men’s soccer teams behind No. 1 Creighton (15).

NATIONALLY RANKED REDHAWKS
This week, the Redhawks celebrate their fifth straight week in the NSCAA Division I Men’s Soccer Top 25 at No. 15, their highest Division I ranking in the coaches’ poll to date. Over the past four weeks, Seattle U has been ranked No. 19 twice (Oct. 6, Oct. 20) and No. 24 twice (Sept. 29, Oct. 13).

For the week of Oct. 26, the Redhawks also rank nationally in three other polls including Soccer America (No. 12), TopDrawerSoccer (Top. 13) and College Soccer News (No. 14).

In 2014, Seattle U earned the program’s first two Division I national rankings since reclassification in the NSCAA/Continental Tire Top 25. On Sept. 2, 2014 the Redhawks were ranked No. 22 and on Sept. 30, 2014 they were ranked No. 24.

2015 NCAA RPI RELEASED
In the fifth NCAA RPI rankings of 2015, the Redhawks come in at No. 12 after ranking as high as No. 10 on Oct. 6. Seattle U is the second highest rated team in Washington, Oregon, and California behind Stanford (No. 8). RPI (Rating Percentage Index) is used to rank teams based upon wins, losses, and strength of schedule, and is primarily used for seeding for the national postseason tournament.

AS WE GO ON, WE REMEMBER
The Redhawks will honor this year’s graduating class as part of the festivities on Sunday. Hamza Haddadi, Michael Roberts, Austin Sweeney, and Shane Haworth will be honored in their final regular season home game.

WAC DIGITAL NETWORK
The Redhawks’ Senior Day match will be broadcast on the WAC Digital Network (www.wacsports.com/live) for free online, iPhone, and tablet.

TICKETS
For all home games, single game tickets can be purchased online (Ticketmaster), by phone (206-398-GOSU), at the SU Ticket Office (1218 E Cherry), or starting 60 minutes prior to kickoff at the NE entrance to Championship Field. For season tickets, the Redhawk Sports Pass allows for GA seating for all men’s and women’s soccer, volleyball, and baseball home contests.

BEST OF THE WEST
In the Oct. 27 version of the NSCAA NCAA Division I Men’s West Regional poll, four of the top 10 are members of the Western Athletic Conference, including three of the top four. The Redhawks (2nd) are joined by UNLV (3rd), Utah Valley (4th), and Bakersfield (9th).

SCOUTING INCARNATE WORD (8-6-0, 4-4-0 WAC)
Noah Keats leads the Cardinals with nine goals and 22 points while, in goal, Chase Therrien (6 GA, 1.14 GAA, 18 saves, .750 save pct.) and Kieran O’Boyle (13 GA, 1.49 GAA, 43 saves, .768 save pct.) have shared time in goal. UIW has won three of their last four but has lost four of their last seven. Incarnate Word currently sits in fourth place in league standings but the school is in the middle of NCAA Division I reclassification and, thus, is not eligible for postseason competition.

BJORNETHUN NAMED NATIONAL POW
Junior defender Kyle Bjornethun was named National Division I Men’s Soccer Player of the Week by both the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and College Soccer News for scoring both goals in the final 1:36 in a win at No. 13 Oregon State on Sunday, Sept. 27. He was also named Western Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 21-27.

THE STREAK
From Sept. 19-Oct. 4, the Redhawks recorded the nation’s third-longest winning streak of seven games behind Creighton (10) and Stanford (8).
