Seattle University women’s soccer senior defender Kelly Beck (Tacoma, Wash.) receives her second consecutive Western Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week honor for the week of Oct. 5-11.

Beck anchored the Seattle U back line as the Redhawks recorded two more shutouts this past weekend, now with eight thus far in 2015. She also scored a goal, her first of the season, in the team’s 5-0 victory vs. UTRGV on Friday, Oct. 9. SU has recorded seven shutouts in their last nine games, five of which were on the road. Seattle U has outscored their opponents 13-0 since last allowing a goal on Sept. 26 at Utah Valley.

CSU Bakersfield’s Haley Vicente was named WAC Offensive Player of the Week for scoring five goals in a pair of games this past weekend.

Seattle U is set to host a pair of doubleheaders with the men’s soccer this weekend, vs. CSU Bakersfield on Friday, Oct. 16 (5 p.m.) and Grand Canyon on Sunday, Oct. 18 (12 noon).
