“I’m proud of Mike; he’s done a terrific job coming in off the bench,” said head coach Pete Fewing. “He’s a mature player, a very bright player. He’s able to look at situations, take assignments, and complete his assignments and he got two good goals against Northwestern. It’s great to have someone coming off the bench who can contribute like that.”
On Friday, Sept. 4, in the Redhawks’ 3-0 win vs. Northwestern in Spokane, Wash., Roberts came in off the bench to score the second two of Seattle U’s three goals. In a single game, Roberts recorded half of his total career goals prior to the match (previously: 4, now: 6).
Off the field, Roberts also excels in the classroom with a 3.24 cumulative GPA as a mechanical engineering major.
Seattle U (2-2-0) travels to northern California this weekend for a single game at Santa Clara on Friday, Sept. 11 (7 p.m. PT). The Redhawks return home to host Harvard (Sept. 18) and Dartmouth (Sept. 20) before the annual crosstown showdown, this year at Championship Field, with Washington on Thursday, Sept. 24.
