LOOKING BACK AT 2014
The Redhawks defeated No. 23 Washington State, 2-1, in double overtime on Nov. 14, 2014, in Pullman in the NCAA Tournament First Round, marking the first ever victory over the Cougars. Seattle U then traveled to face No. 18 South Carolina at historic Fetzer Field in Chapel Hill, N.C., where they played the Gamecocks to a scoreless draw before ultimately falling in PK’s, 2-1. After the program’s first appearance in the NCAA Second Round, they look to build upon their success in 2015.

SEATTLE U’S VICTORY IN PULLMAN
On Nov. 14, 2014, the Cougars and Redhawks faced in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament on a sub-freezing night in Pullman, Wash. Stephanie Verdoia put Seattle U ahead in the 33rd minute to give SU a 1-0 lead through halftime. In the 80th minute, Beau Bremer crossed the ball in to Mariah Powers who tied the game, 1-1, ultimately sending it to overtime. Natasha Howe would score the golden goal in the 108th minute, beating out a pair of WSU defenders and keeper Gurveen Clair for the unassisted game-winner.

TICKETS
Single game tickets can be purchased online (Ticketmaster), by phone (206-398-GOSU), at the SU Ticket Office (1218 E Cherry), or starting 60 minutes prior to kickoff at the NE entrance to Championship Field. For season tickets, the Redhawk Sports Pass allows for GA seating for all men’s and women’s soccer, volleyball, and baseball home contests.

SHUTOUT STREAK
In regular season play (including the 2014 conference tournament), the Redhawks recorded four straight shutouts and outscored their opponents 25-0 (Oct. 26-Nov. 9). Seattle U has not recorded a loss since a 1-0 loss to GCU on Oct. 10, their only WAC loss in the past two years.

WAC DIGITAL NETWORK
Both matches this weekend will be broadcast on the WAC Digital Network, which fans can watch for free on computer, iPhone, or tablet at www.wacsports.com/live.

SCOUTING WASHINGTON STATE
The Cougars are coached by first year HC Todd Shulenberger, former associate HC at Texas Tech, and return eight of 11 goal scorers from 2014. They were picked to finish ninth in the Pac-12 but are receiving votes in the NSCAA Preseason Top 25. Last season, WSU made their fourth straight NCAA Tournament appearance.

SCOUTING OREGON
The Ducks finished 10th in the Pac-12 in 2014 with a 7-10-2 overall and 3-7-1 WAC record. They lose both leading goal scorer Bri Pugh and starting goalkeeper Abby Steele but add 10 newcomers to the squad.

REDHAWKS PICKED TO WIN WAC
Seattle U was picked to win their third straight WAC title in the league’s coaches’ preseason vote. Natasha Howe and Kiana Kraft were also named to the Preseason All-Conference team.
