Seattle University head men’s golf coach Marc Chandonnet has completed the team’s competition schedule for the 2015-16 season, with the Redhawks returning to Chambers Bay Golf Club for the third straight year as well as staying close to campus for several other tournaments.
The Redhawks will not need to travel far for their first tournament of the year, heading to Cle Elum, Wash., for the Husky Invitational Sept. 21-22, hosted by the University of Washington at the Suncadia Golf Resort. Seattle U will then travel across the state to Pullman, Wash., for the Itani Quality Homes Collegiate, hosted by Washington State Sept. 28-29 at the Palouse Ridge Golf Club.
For the second time in three years, the Redhawks will travel to Mexico for the Cabo Del Sol Intercollegiate, hosted by Santa Clara Oct. 4-6. Seattle U concludes the fall schedule at the Bill Cullum Invitational, hosted by CSU Northridge Oct. 19-20 at the Wood Ranch Golf Club in Simi Valley, Calif.
The spring season begins Feb. 1-2 with the Loyola Marymount Invitational at the Reflection Bay Golf Club in Henderson, Nev. The next week, the Redhawks travel to Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., for The Farms Collegiate Invitational, hosted by San Diego Feb. 8-9.
Three of the Redhawks’ final four tournaments of the regular season will take place in the Pacific Northwest, starting with the Bandon Dunes Championship March 6-8 at the Bandon Trails Golf Course in Oregon. Seattle U heads back to Oregon March 21-22 for the Northwest Classic, hosted by Oregon State at the Willamette Valley Country Club in Canby, Ore.
For the third straight year, Seattle U hosts the Redhawk Invitational at Chambers Bay Golf Club in University Place Apr. 4-5, with the Redhawks coming off a second-place finish at last year’s tournament. The team concludes the regular season at the El Macero Classic, hosted by UC Davis Apr. 15-17.
After finishing third at last year’s WAC Championships, the Redhawks will make the short drive north to Blaine, Wash., for the 2016 Western Athletic Conference Men’s Golf Championships at Loomis Trail Golf Club Apr. 30-May 2. The team conference champion as well as the top individual not on that squad will head to one of six sites for the NCAA Regionals May 16-18, with the NCAA Division I Championships taking place May 27-June 1 at the Eugene Country Club in Eugene, Ore.
An experienced squad is expected back for the Seattle University men’s golf program in 2015-16 as the Redhawks look to continue their improvement after six top-three finishes as a team last season.
