Two members of the Seattle University baseball team have continued their stellar play so far this summer, as infielder Brock Carpenter (Milton, Wash.) was selected to play in the Northwoods League All-Star Game, while lefthanded pitcher Nick Meservey (Phoenix, Ariz.) was elected to participate in the Alaska Baseball League All-Star Game.

Carpenter will play for the South Division in Tuesday’s Northwoods League All-Star Game at his home park of Witter Field in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisc. Playing for the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters, Carpenter leads the team with a .314 batting average, collecting six doubles, three home runs, 17 runs batted in, 18 runs scored, and 23 walks so far this summer.

Meservey was not scheduled to play in this past Sunday’s Alaska Baseball League All-Star Game at Mulcahy Stadium in Anchorage, Alaska, but he was named to represent the Glacier Pilots on the National team. So far this summer, Meservey is 1-2 with a 1.64 earned run average, pitching 27 1/3 innings and striking out 27 batters while walking just three hitters. On July 1, he allowed just one hit in nine innings while striking out 12 opposing batters.

Elsewhere around the country, Griffin Andreychuk (Nanaimo, B.C.) is batting .340 with 16 hits, 12 runs scored, nine runs batted in, and four stolen bases for the Victoria HarbourCats of the West Coast League, plus he has made just one error in 38 chances. In the Orange County Collegiate League, Jack Reisinger (San Juan Capistrano, Calif.) is batting .294 with five doubles, seven runs scored, seven runs batted in, and six walks against just four strikeouts.

The Redhawks will wrap up their participation in the various summer leagues over the next month before reporting to campus in September to begin preparations for the 2015-16 season.
