The Seattle University men’s golf team finished in 13th place at the Arizona Intercollegiate Tuesday, hosted by the University of Arizona at Sewailo Golf Club.
Patrick Sato (Bellevue, Wash.) remained Seattle U’s top player for the tournament after he posted a team-best round of three-under-par 68, collecting six birdies against just three bogeys during the final round. Sato moved up the individual standings, ending up in a tie for 13th place at even-par 213, his best performance of the 2014-15 season.
Jamie Hall (Seattle, Wash.) collected four birdies as he shot 72 (+1) to finish in a tie for 59th place at 224 (+11), the same three-round score as Joe Harvie (Orting, Wash.) after he shot 78 (+7) in the final round. Ross Kukula (Ocean Park, Wash.) also shot 78 (+7) in the third round to end up in a tie for 66th place at 226 (+13), and Kyle Cornett (Mill Creek, Wash.) finished the tournament in a tie for 84th place at 237 (+24) after shooting 80 (+9) in the third round.
Seattle U posted its second consecutive round of 296 (+12) to finish the tournament in 13th place at 885 (+33). Arizona State’s Max Rottluff won medalist honors after shooting 68 (-3) in the final round to win the tournament by four strokes over Martin Simonsen of UTEP, with the Sun Devils shooting the low round of the day at 277 (-7) to extend their winning margin to 11 strokes.
Seattle University returns to action Feb. 9-10 in Lakeside, Calif., for the Barona Collegiate Cup, hosted by San Diego State University at the Barona Creek Golf Club.
