In cold, windy conditions, Seattle University and Gonzaga University played the first of two rounds of the Redhawk-Bulldog Individual Classic Sunday at The Home Course.

Seattle U’s Kyle Cornett (Mill Creek, Wash.) and Gonzaga’s Sean Walsh were able to handle the changing conditions the best, shooting one-under-par 71 to sit atop the standings after 18 holes. Jamie Hall (Seattle, Wash.) made his Redhawk debut by shooting one-over-par 73 to end the day in a tie for third place with teammate Patrick Sato (Bellevue, Wash.).

Ross Kukula (Ocean Park, Wash.) shot two-over-par 74, good enough for fifth place after the first day, followed by Joe Harvie (Orting, Wash.) and Shane Wathanasaynee (Los Alamitos, Calif.) in a tie for sixth place at three-over-par 75. Ahren Young (Renton, Wash.) posted a first-round total of 76 (+4), tied with three Gonzaga golfers for eighth place heading into Monday’s second and final round.
