Seattle University head men's golf coach Marc Chandonnet and Gonzaga head men's golf coach Robert Gray have agreed to have the two teams play two rounds of golf, competing as individuals, over Martin Luther King Jr. weekend in the inaugural Redhawk-Bulldog Classic.
The Redhawk and Bulldog golfers will play 18 holes on both Sunday, Jan. 18, and Monday, Jan. 19, at The Home Course in DuPont, Wash., site of last year's United States Women's Amateur Public Links Championship. The first tee times will be at 10:30 a.m. each day, and everyone will play as an individual, meaning no team score will be computed.
Results after each round will be posted on both GoSeattleU.com and GoZags.com as they become available from the course. Spectators are welcome to follow the golfers as they compete providing they follow NCAA and course rules, but there will be no live scoring during the two-day event.
On Saturday, Jan. 17, the Seattle U golf program will join with Habitat for Humanity for its community service day, continuing the commitment of the Redhawk athletics programs to help non-profit organizations.
