They are set to host San Diego on Friday, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. and San Francisco on Sunday, Dec. 14 at 2 p.m. Other than a Dec. 29 road contest at Oregon, Seattle U will be home until the start of Western Athletic Conference play on Saturday, Jan. 10. Scouting San Diego (7-1): The Toreros are riding a three-game winning streak, only dropping one contest thus far in 2014 to Fresno State, 93-88, on Nov. 28. USD was picked to finish third in the West Coast Conference (WCC) Coaches Preseason poll behind Gonzaga and BYU, receiving one first place vote. Maya Hood is the team’s second leading scorer (15.9 ppg) and has scored in double figures in each of San Diego’s opening eight games. Malina Hood sits just above her twin sister in the team stats, averaging 16.8 ppg. The Redhawks and Toreros last met on Dec. 8, 2013, a game USD won, 79-56 (all time 3-0 vs. SU).

Scouting USF (6-2): One of the Dons’ two losses of the season (also: 66-53 at UC Riverside on 11/22) came most recently at Long Beach State, 70-58, on Dec. 7 due to 24 turnovers converting to 27 points for LBSU. Four Dons are scoring in double digits through the first eight games, led by Taylor Proctor (12.5 ppg).

Dads and Daughters Night Friday: Friday night is “Dads and Daughters” night where dads are encouraged to bring their daughters for a night of family fun. Dads and daughters will get a special deal which includes tickets, drinks, and hot dogs for $10.

High Scoring Performances: Alexis Montgomery set a new career high in both scoring and rebounding (26 pts, 13 rbs) with her second career double-double in the 62-57 win over LMU on Dec. 6. Wilma Afunugo also recorded a career-high three blocks while Kaylee Best grabbed a career-high nine rebounds and Claire Metoyer made a career-high five assists.
