Seattle University women’s soccer’s Isabelle Butterfield (Bellevue, Wash.) has been named Western Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 8-14. This is her first career honor and third for the team this season in four weeks of regular season competition.

“Izzy continues to be one of our consistently solid performers in each and every game,” said head coach Julie Woodward. “She is getting more comfortable and confident and it’s definitely showing as she has scored tremendous goals in our past two games. She just keeps getting better and better.”

In the team’s game at St. Mary’s on Sunday, Sept. 14, Butterfield scored her first career game-winner in the 2-0 shutout. Alongside her goal in the 52nd minute, she led the Redhawks with two total shots, both on goal.

This season, Butterfield has started all six games while recording two goals for four points, six shots, and three shots on goal. She also ranks second on the team with a shot percentage of 33.3 through the first six matches.
