April 22, 2014: Seattle U Redhawks (17-18, 7-5 WAC) vs. Washington Huskies (27-8-1)April 25-27, 2014: Seattle University at University of North Dakota (7-18, 7-5 WAC)

LOOKING FOR CONSISTENCY: Seattle University put together its second five-game winning streak earlier in the month, but the team is coming off a weekend series in which it lost three of four games at New Mexico State. The Redhawks will see a consistent schedule the rest of the season, with one mid-week game followed by the weekend conference series. This week, Seattle U is scheduled to host nationally-ranked Washington Tuesday before visiting North Dakota for a three-game set to begin the second half of the conference season.

THE PREVIOUS WEEK: Seattle University extended its winning streak to five games with a 9-4 victory over Portland last Tuesday, winning the season series over its Pacific Northwest rival, 3-2. It was also the second five-game winning streak put together by the Redhawks this season. Skyler Genger allowed just four hits in six innings for the victory, striking out seven batters without issuing a walk. Seattle U banged out 15 hits in the victory. The Redhawks then saw its winning streak snapped Thursday with a 7-4 loss to New Mexico State. Friday, Seattle U broke away in the first game of a doubleheader with four runs in the fifth inning, going on to a 9-3 victory. Will Dennis and Andrew Olson combined to keep the Aggie offense at bay, while five different Redhawks collected two hits apiece. In the nightcap, Seattle U fell behind 6-0, but chipped away at the lead with two runs in the fifth inning and single runs in the sixth, seventh, and eighth innings. The Redhawks had the tying run in scoring position in both the eighth and ninth innings, but could not convert, falling to the Aggies 6-5. In a non-conference game Saturday, Seattle U lost to New Mexico State, 5-3. Brian Olson had 11 hits and drove in eight runs during the week, while Griffin Andreychuk scored nine times thanks to a .600 on-base percentage.

QUICK NOTES: Brian Olson has earned more than one hit in five straight games and eight of his last 11 contests ... Andrew Olson (no relation) has not allowed a run in his last six appearances, spanning 7 2/3 innings, giving up only three hits ... Griffin Andreychuk is 13-for-28 (.464) over his last eight games, plus he has made only one error in 38 chances over that span ... In his last four appearances, Skyler Genger has allowed just four hits in 11 1/3 innings with 14 strikeouts.

SCHEDULE CHANGES: The season series between Seattle U and Washington will now start on Tuesday, April 22, after the game on April 8 was rained out. The April 22 game was scheduled for Husky Ballpark, but will now take place at Bannerwood Park starting at 6 p.m. The games at Husky Ballpark will happen on April 29 and May 13, both starting at 5 p.m. Also, there is some clarity for the final WAC series of the regular season between Seattle U and Bakersfield. The game Friday, May 16 will begin at 6 p.m., while the Senior Day contest Saturday, May 17, is set for a 12 noon first pitch, with both games taking place at Bannerwood Park in Bellevue.
