Seattle University head softball coach Dan Powers and his staff are offering two different camps in summer 2013 for aspiring softball players. Both camps will take place at Logan Field at Seattle University Park and campers will train in all areas of the game – hitting, fielding, base running, and team play.

On June 25-26, the Nike General Skills Softball Camp is open to girls ages 8-13 and will focus on skill development, team play, and more. The day camp will take place from 12-4 pm each day and costs $250.00 per camper.

The Nike High Potential Softball Camp will welcome girls ages 14-17 on Aug. 26-27 from 12-5 pm each day for a $400.00 total cost. This camp will focus on evaluation for potential future Redhawks and is primarily meant for those who want to compete at the collegiate level.

Powers, the camp director, has been at the helm of the Redhawk softball team for 10 seasons and recently led the team in their first season in the Western Athletic Conference. In 2013, he coached two All-Conference honorees in Bubba Morrow (Auburn, Wash.) and Isabella Geronimo (San Mateo, Calif.), as well as Allegra Wilde (Kennewick, Wash.), who was named to the Capital One Academic All-District VIII First Team.
