The Seattle University men's golf team closed play at the Sacramento State Invitational Tuesday, taking 298 strokes (+10) during the third and final round at Valley Hi Country Club in Sacramento, Calif.

Colter Morton (Pocatello, Idaho) finished as the lowest-ranked Redhawk, taking 225 shots (+9) during the tournament and tying for 44th, his second best finish of the year. He ended with a final round of 77 (+5) Tuesday.

Will Holdridge (Lynden, Wash.) fired a 1-under-par 71 during Tuesday's final round to close out the tournament at 227 strokes, 11 shots above par. Holdridge tied for 49th in the tournament with four other players.

Just one stroke behind Holdridge, David Torres (Armenia, Colombia) finished with 228 strokes (+12) over three rounds. Torres, who tied for 54th place, carded a 76 on the day, four strokes above par. Rob Seibly (Spokane, Wash.) shot 74 (+2) during the final round, climbing up to a tie for 60th. He ended with a total of 229 strokes, 13 above par.

Wrapping up the Redhawks' lineup, Jordan Beals (Enumclaw, Wash.) closed out his tournament with a 5-over-par 77. He ended with 236 strokes over the three rounds, 20 strokes above par, and tied for 66th place.  

Overall, Seattle U finished 13th in the team competition by counting 903 strokes, 39 shots above par. UC Santa Barbara won the team title with a score of 11-underpar 853, and the Gaucho's Glen Scher held on to the individual championship by taking 208 strokes, eight strokes under par.

The Redhawks will take a break from stroke play for a few weeks as they next take part in the Cypress Ridge Match Play at Cypress Ridge Golf Club in Arroyo Grande, Calif. That tournament will run Thursday, March 28 and Friday, March 29.
