The Seattle U men's golf team opened up play at Washington State's Snowman Getaway Monday with two rounds at Palm Valley Golf Club in Goodyear, Ariz.

Paul Pavlos (Woodinville, Wash.) led the way for the Redhawks, shooting a cumulative 153 (+9) during two rounds on the day. He carded a 71 (-1) on the first 18, but followed up with an 82 (+10) to enter Tuesday's final round in a tie for 39th.

Enumclaw, Wash. natives Quin Koplitz and Jordan Beals are both tied at +15 for the tournament, both lying in a tie for 75th place. Koplitz shot rounds of 73 (+1) and 86 (+13), while Beals shot 77 (+5) and 82 (+10) in his first day of competitive golf this season.

Just two strokes behind Koplitz and Beals lies Alex Dow (Sacramento, Calif.), who stands at 161 (+17) for the tournament after carding a 78 (+6) and 83 (+11) in the first and second rounds, respectively.

Closing out the Seattle U roster is Alec Pakzad (Bellevue, Wash.) with rounds of 83 (+11) and 84 (+12).

In the team competition, the Redhawks sit in 14th place with an overall score of 630 (+54). Missouri-Kansas City sits in first place with a team score of 592 (+16), while Mario Clemens and Jay Hwang, both of UCLA, lead the tournament at 139 (-5).

The Redhawks will finish up the Snowman Getaway Tuesday, Feb. 28 with an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start.
