The Seattle University volleyball team held its end-of-the-season banquet Saturday, Jan. 21, at Casey Commons on campus to celebrate the 2011 campaign and hand out its team awards.

The players voted for Kaytlyn Dill (Bothell, Wash.) to be the Most Valuable Player for 2011. Dill, a redshirt junior, appeared in 25 matches and finished second on the team with 210 kills in 645 attack attempts along with 17 service aces, 104 defensive digs, and 27 total blocks.

The Coaches' Award for 2011 was given to redshirt freshman Allie Hoskins (Colorado Springs, Colo.), who became the team's libero during the season. Hoskins led the Redhawks with 221 defensive digs, reaching double digits in digs in 13 of the team's last 16 matches. She collected a season-high 21 digs against Hofstra Sept. 17.

The players also voted for the Most Inspirational Award, and that was earned by junior Kelly Biette (Brighton, Colo.). Biette had seven kills and 15 total blocks in 13 matches on the court, but she was also recognized for her work in the classroom and in the community, especially as one of the team's representatives on the Student-Athlete Advisory Council.

Seattle University will lose three players to graduation: Megan Augustavo (Shoreline, Wash.), Jordan Keller (Mukilteo, Wash.), and Cristin Richards (Tumwater, Wash.). The 2012 squad will join the Western Athletic Conference and will be eligible for the conference title and a berth in the NCAA Tournament.
