The Seattle University women's swim team posted some personal-best results, but the depth of Boise State was too much for the Redhawks as the Broncos earned a 185-76 victory Saturday morning at the Connolly Center Pool.

As has been the case throughout the season, the Redhawks were strongest in the breaststroke events, earning their only two event victories of the day in that discipline. Alexis Morehouse (Vancouver, Wash.) just defeated Heather Harper of Boise State by 22/100ths of a second in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:05.75, while Kevlyn Richards (Gig Harbor, Wash.) also finished just ahead of Harper in 2:24.54, just 4/10ths of a second ahead of the Bronco.

The most exciting race of the day was the final one, as the two teams were neck-and-neck in the 400 freestyle relay. The Redhawk quartet of Tina Nguyen (Hillsboro, Ore.), Nicole Doi (Pleasanton, Calif.), Hanna Basler (El Cajon, Calif.), and Melissa Randolf (Everett, Wash.) posted a time of 3:36.31, just 12/100ths of a second behind the Boise State relay team.

The Redhawks went 2-3-4 in the 100 backstroke, led by Basler with a time of 1:01.01, followed by Nguyen in 1:01.13 and Rachel Leighter (Eugene, Ore.) in 1:02.05. Leighter also finished second in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:10.41, while Karla Ruff (Seattle, Wash.) finished third in both the 200 freestyle in 1:58.30 and in the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:39.45.

Casey Hoffman (Federal Way, Wash.) enjoyed a solid day in the distance events, finishing fourth in the 1000 freestyle in 10:45.59, followed by a second-place finish in the 500 freestyle in 5:15.07. Besides her victory, Richards also finished third in the 50 freestyle with a time of 25.39 seconds, and Doi finished third in the 100 freestyle in 54.76 seconds.

The Seattle University women's swim team is next in action at the Husky Invitational Dec. 2-4 at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Wash.
