Don Rasmussen, head coach of the Seattle University men's and women's golf teams, has announced that three student-athletes have signed National Letters of Intent to come to the university and join the women's golf program beginning in the 2012-13 academic year.

Amanda Beyke (Federal Way, Wash.) posted a record of 38-2 during her four years as a member of the Decatur High School varsity golf team, earning First Team All-League honors all four years. She finished third in the 2010 Washington 3A State Tournament after two previous top-11 finishes. She qualified for the Junior World Championships at age 16 and shot 69 (-5) in the WJGA sub-district tournament earlier this year.

Juhee Lee (Wilsonville, Ore.) placed second at the Oregon high school state championships three years in a row, representing Wilsonville High School. She earned medalist honors at the PNGA Junior Girls Amateur Championship after shooting 68 (-4). Lee also won a qualifier tournament in Oregon to participate in the Callaway Junior World Championships and the Optimist Junior Championships.

Clare Sorensen (Roseville, Calif.) was a four-year all-conference performer at Loretto High School and Christian Brothers High School, advancing to the CIF NorCal Championships three times and to the CIF State Championships once. She earned medalist honors at the 2009 Sac San Joaquin Masters Championship and led Christian Brothers earlier this year to a first place finish at the Masters Championship and a third place finish at the CIF NorCal Championship in Palo Alto, Calif.

"Each one of these players is capable of coming in and playing at the number one spot on our team, but we will see how hard they are willing to work when they arrive on campus," Rasmussen said. "I am thrilled with this recruiting class, and as we continue to recruit this caliber of student-athlete, the results for the program will improve."

The Seattle University women's golf team will begin the spring season at the Red Rocks Invitational in Sedona, Ariz., March 3-4, and wrap up the year at the West Coast Conference Championships April 16-18 in Hollister, Calif. The Redhawks will move to the Western Athletic Conference July 1, 2012.
