With two golfers in the top ten of the individual standings, the Seattle University men's golf team finished in a tie for third place Monday at the Firestone Grill Collegiate Invitational, hosted by Cal Poly at the Monarch Dunes Golf Course.

The Redhawks were led by Will Holdridge (Lynden, Wash.), who shot rounds of even-par 71 and two-under-par 69 Sunday before a score of four-over-par 75 in the third round left him in a tie for sixth place with a final total of 215 (+2). Alec Pakzad (Bellevue, Wash.) was consistent throughout the tournament, with scores of 71 (even), 73 (+2), and 72 (+1) putting him in a tie for eighth place with a cumulative score of 216 (+3).

Quin Koplitz (Enumclaw, Wash.) posted his best round of the tournament in the final round, shooting 72 (+1) to go along with first-day scores of 73 (+2) and 79 (+8) to end up in a tie for 27th place with a final score of 224 (+11). Rob Seibly (Spokane, Wash.) shot 73 (+2) and 76 (+5) on Sunday, followed by a third-round score of 78 (+7) to finish in a tie for 35th place with a 54-hole total of 227 (+14).

Alex Dow (Sacramento, Calif.) finished the tournament in a tie for 51st place by combining his first-day scores of 73 (+2) and 79 (+8) with a third-round tally of 81 (+10) for a cumulative score of 233 (+20). Playing as an individual, Colter Morton (Pocatello, Idaho) finished in a tie for 39th place with a three-round total of 228 (+15) after rounds of 76 (+5), 73 (+2), and 79 (+8).

After a first-round 288 (+4) left Seattle U just four shots out of the lead, the Redhawks posted back-to-back round totals of 297 (+13) to finish up tied with UC Riverside for third place with a final score of 882 (+30), three shots behind second-place Utah Valley. Cal State Fullerton won the team title by 18 strokes, while Pedro Figueiredo of UCLA earned medalist honors with a final score of 211 (-3), one stroke ahead of two players.

After a few weeks away from competition, the Seattle University men's golf team will compete at the Kauai Collegiate Invitational, hosted by the University of Hawaii at the Puakea Golf Course Oct. 30-Nov. 1.
