This Week for the Redhawks: After playing 10 consecutive games on the road to open the year, the Seattle University women's soccer team (7-3) opens the 2011 home slate with fellow Jesuit rival San Francisco (3-6) on Friday, Sept. 23. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. Prior to first kick, the Redhawks will host a pregame ceremony recognizing 15th season head coach Julie Woodward's 200th career victory.
Last Time Out: The Redhawks put together a perfect weekend performance at the UNLV NIKE Invitational, going 2-0. SU earned their first come-from-behind victory of the season over host-UNLV, with a 2-1 win on Sept. 16. They followed that up with a 3-1 win over San Diego State two days later. The win over SDSU marked Woodward's 200th career victory.

On Deck: The Redhawks will host consecutive home games, as fellow Jesuit rival Gonzaga travels west for a Friday, Sept. 30 match. Kickoff is slated for 4 p.m.
UNLV NIKE Invite Champs: The only team to go 2-0 at the UNLV NIKE Invitational, the Redhawks earned their first tournament title of the season. They defeated host-UNLV and San Diego State.
Salisbury Named CS360 Primetime Performer of the Week: Senior defender Jordan Salisbury earned her first national recognition, as she was named a CollegeSoccer360.com Primetime Performer of the Week. She was key in SU's strong defensive efforts to win the UNLV NIKE Invitational. In addition to a solid defensive game, she also scored her third goal of the season versus SDSU on Sept. 18, to help guide the Redhawks to a 3-1 victory.
Road Warriors: After playing 10 games on the road, SU returns home for a two-game home stand. SU is riding a three-game win streak and holds a 7-3 record.
The Woodward Tally: Head coach Julie Woodward reached the 200-win milestone on Sept. 18, in SU's 3-1 victory over San Diego State. She is the No. 5 winningest coach in SU history in a single sport and the winningest women's soccer coach in program history.
Comforts of Home: The Redhawks will host their home opener this Friday versus San Francisco. SU will only play five games at Championship Field this season.
Penalty Kick Specialist: Sophomore Julia Besagno preserved her stance as the team's penalty kick taker. In back-to-back matches, she scored goals for the Redhawks off penalty kicks at Portland State (Sept. 11) and UNLV (Sept. 16) to help kickoff SU's three-game win streak. She also had an assist on Heather Thomas' goal versus UNLV.
Hill to Salisbury: The Mary Hill-Jordan Salisbury connection has been strong this season, as the duo has connected on three goals thus far. Hill also plays alongside Salisbury on the Redhawk backline, where her sister Nance was also a central defender for Seattle U from 2008-10.
Three in a Row: The Redhawks are currently riding a three-game win streak heading into their home opener.
Verdoia Continues to Anchor Offense: Freshman Stephanie Verdoia continues add to her already impressive playing resume. The newbie has not only started and played in all ten games this season, but leads the Redhawk offensive efforts. She's tallied four goals and two assists for 10 points.
Fresh Faces: Freshmen Megan Daniels, Taylor Ritzman and Stephanie Verdoia have all seen significant minutes this season, combining for 16 points on the year. On Sept. 16 at UNLV, the trio all started - marking the first time this season the three newbies have all started in the same game. It also was Ritzman's first career start.
The Captains: Senior goalkeeper Madison Goverde and senior defender Renee Vandermause will captain the 2011 Redhawk squad.
Final Year of Independence: 2011 will mark SU's final season playing as an NCAA DI Independent. On July 1, 2012 Seattle U will officially join the Western Athletic Conference as full members.
One For the Books!: SU's 2-0 shutout victory over then-No. 8 Portland was the biggest win in Redhawk women's soccer program history. It also marked the highest win an SU team has earned since reclassifying back to Division I.
Scouting San Francisco: The Dons of San Francisco dropped to 3-6 on the year following a 6-1 loss to then-No. 22 Cal on Sept. 18 at home. On the year, opponents are outscoring USF 13-6 in the second half.
Freshman Mackenzie Krieser leads the offense with four goals and a pair of assists for 10 points.
Goalkeeper Gabby Guaiumi has played in all nine games this season, starting eight. In 806:01 minutes, she's tallied a 2.01 goals against average, 41 saves and a pair of shutouts; while allowing 18 goals against.
The Last Time Seattle U Faced San Francisco: In this West Coast Jesuit school battle, the Redhawks are 1-1 with the Dons since reclassifying back to DI. In their last meeting on Sept. 27, 2009 in Seattle the Redhawks dropped a 1-0 decision.
