Rob Seibly (Spokane, Wash.) shot five-under-par 65, the best third-round score by any of the 92 participants, and the rest of the Seattle University men's golf team posted solid scores to help the Redhawks finish in fifth place Saturday at The McLaughlin, hosted by St. John's University at the Bethpage State Park Red Course.

Seibly moved into the top ten in the final standings, as his three-round total of 207 (-3) was good enough for a tie for ninth place. Will Holdridge (Lynden, Wash.) wrapped up the weekend with a 73 (+3) in the final round, ending the tournament in a tie for 28th place with a cumulative score of 216 (+6).

Quinn Koplitz (Enumclaw, Wash.) shot his best round of the weekend, posting a score of even-par 70 to move into a tie for 35th place with a 54-hole total of 217 (+7). Ian Dahl (Longview, Wash.) finished the tournament in a tie for 41st place after a third-round 72 (+2) gave him a final score of 218 (+8), and Paul Pavlos (Woodinville, Wash.) also shot 72 for a three-round total of 219 (+9), good enough to tie for 46th place.

Only TCU shot a better third-round score than Seattle University, as the Redhawks posted a combined score of 279 (-1) to move from 10th place to fifth place with a final total of 855 (+15), sliding past schools such as Dartmouth, Harvard, Columbia, and George Mason. West Florida held off TCU to win the team title by one stroke, while Carlos Rodriguez shot even-par 70 to stay on top of the individual standings by two strokes over TCU's Daniel Jennevret, the other golfer besides Seibly to shoot 65 in the final round.
