Seattle U easily won the doubles point thanks to a walkover and the top two Redhawk doubles teams losing only three games combined. The Redhawks earned another point with a walkover when South Dakota could not field a player in the number six singles position.
Katrina Schwab (Spokane, Wash.) earned a straight-set victory over Veronika Makashov in the number two position (6-1, 6-2), as did Gabriella Weissmann (Simi Valley, Calif.) over Ysabel Nunez in the number three spot (6-2, 6-0). In the number four singles position, Anna Lambert (Spokane, Wash.) defeated Marina Kiefer in straight sets (6-2, 6-4), and Sarah Lucas (Las Vegas, Nev.) took care of Maddy Warder in the number five position without losing a game (6-0, 6-0).
The Seattle University women's tennis squad has now won four dual matches in a row, the longest winning streak for the team since the reestablishment of the program in 2008. Seattle U has also won back-to-back matches against Great West Conference foes, giving the team confidence heading into the conference tournament at the end of April.
