Seibly shot two-under-par 70, a score bested by only two golfers in the second round, to finish the tournament in a tie for fourth place with a cumulative score of even-par 144. Seibly collected 10 birdies over the two days and took advantage of the par-five holes, shooting a tournament-best four-under-par on the long holes.
Ian Dahl (Longview, Wash.) also posted a top-20 performance, finishing in a tie for 13th place after a second-round 75 (+3) gave him a final score of 151 (+7). Chris Holway (Longview, Wash.) also shot 75 (+3) Friday to finish the tournament in 23rd place with a 36-hole score of 154 (+10), and Jordan Beals (Enumclaw, Wash.) improved to a second-round 78 (+6) for a two-day total of 163 (+19), good enough for 32nd place.
Seattle University posted a team score of 298 (+10) for a 36-hole total of 603 (+27), just one stroke behind Cal State Bakersfield and two strokes in back of Creighton. Cal Poly and Sacramento State went to a team playoff after each finishing the tournament at 583 (+7), with the Mustangs winning the playoff on the first extra hole. Sacramento State's Jake Johnson earned medalist honors after a second-round 66 (-6) gave him a final score of 139 (-5) to win by three strokes.
The Seattle University men's golf team concludes its California trip by competing in the OGIO-Santa Barbara Intercollegiate, hosted by UC Santa Barbara at the Sandpiper Golf Course Monday and Tuesday, March 28-29.
