All five Seattle U players posted their lowest scores of the tournament Tuesday, with Ian Dahl (Longview, Wash.) shooting 72 (+1) over the final 18 holes to finish in a tie for 15th place at 220 (+7). Jordan Beals (Enumclaw, Wash.) shot the team's best round of the tournament with a 70 (-1) to move up into 19th place in the final standings with a cumulative score of 222 (+9).
Chris Holway (Longview, Wash.) made a significant improvement, shooting even-par 71 over the final 18 holes for a 54-hole total of 229 (+16), good enough for 33rd place. Rob Seibly (Spokane, Wash.) posted a final-round score of 75 (+4) for a two-day total of 235 (+22) that put him in 41st place, and Paul Pavlos (Woodinville, Wash.) finished the tournament in 47th place after a third-round 79 (+8) gave him a final score of 244 (+31).
With the third-best team round of the day, Seattle U moved past UC Riverside and Cal State Bakersfield, as well as a St. John's squad that withdrew, into seventh place with a final score of 906 (+54). Cal Poly won the team title with a cumulative score of 867 (+15), with Mustang leading golfer Geoff Gonzalez earning medalist honors with a three-round total of 212 (-1), three strokes ahead of a group of four golfers.
The Seattle University men's golf team will remain in southern California for the Cal Poly Lamkin Grip Match Play Challenge this Thursday and Friday, March 24-25, at the Cypress Ridge Golf Club in Arroyo Grande, Calif. The Redhawk women's golf team will also be participating in that tournament.
