The Seattle University women's tennis lost a neutral-site match to Montana, 7-0, Saturday morning at the LCSC Tennis Center before heading over to the Spokane Club and dropping a 6-1 decision to Gonzaga Saturday evening.

The Redhawks' only point of the day came from freshman Anna Lambert (Spokane, Wash.), who returned to her hometown and earned a straight-set victory over Gonzaga's Britta Stime (6-3, 6-1). Seattle U also picked up a doubles victory when Sarah Lucas (Las Vegas, Nev.) and Gabriella Weissmann (Simi Valley, Calif.) defeated Stime and Gabrielle Verspieren in the number three doubles spot, 8-6.

After losing all singles and doubles matches to Montana in the morning, Seattle U rebounded and played Gonzaga close. The number two doubles team of Corinne Wurden (Poulsbo, Wash.) and Katrina Schwab (Spokane, Wash.) went to a tiebreaker with Jackie Tabb and Sophie Lantta before losing the set, 7-4 in the tiebreaker. Weissmann and Wurden both forced super-tiebreakers in their singles matches, but their opponents were able to pull out the contests.

Seattle University (2-12) concludes the weekend road trip with a match at Eastern Washington Sunday, March 13, beginning at 10 a.m. The Redhawks will then host Portland at the Amy Yee Tennis Center next Sunday, March 20, beginning at 1:15 p.m.
