After a disqualification in the 200 medley relay put them behind, the Redhawks used a solid performance in the 1000 freestyle, led by winner Marina Pomar-Enders (Mill Creek, Wash.) with a time of 10:41.83, to take the lead. Nevada retook the lead after the 200 freestyle, but Seattle U pulled ahead for good with a 1-2-3 finish in the 50 freestyle thanks to Kelsey Henan (Billings, Mont.), Briley Boggs (Federal Way, Wash.), and Kevlyn Richards (Gig Harbor, Wash.).
Alexis Morehouse (Vancouver, Wash.) won two events for the second time in as many days, touching the wall first in the 200 individual medley in 2:09.18 and the 200 breaststroke in a school-record time of 2:17.01. Rachel Leighter (Eugene, Ore.) earned a first-place finish in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:08.62, and Hayley Cobb (Irvine, Calif.) posted a solid victory in the 500 freestyle in 5:08.89, almost eight full seconds ahead of her nearest competitor.
The women concluded the meet with a victory in the 200 freestyle relay, as the quartet of Tina Nguyen (Hillsboro, Ore.), Nicole Doi (Pleasanton, Calif.), Hanna Basler (El Cajon, Calif.), and Cobb combined for a time of 1:39.86.
The Seattle University women's swim team will conclude the dual-meet season by welcoming Oregon State and Boise State to the Connolly Center next Saturday, Feb. 5, beginning at 12 noon.
