The Utes beat both the men's and women's teams in a dual meet on Saturday.

On Friday evening, the Seattle U swimming teams took on the Utes of Utah in a dual match, losing in both the men’s and women’s competitions 155-122 and 190-104, respectively.

Alexis Morehouse (Vancouver, Wash.) led the women by placing first in both the 100 breaststroke (1:05.73) and the 200 breaststroke (2:21.02). Marina Pomar-Enders (Mill Creek, Wash.) grabbed first place in the 500 freestyle in 5:14.98, just out-touching teammate Hayley Cobb (Irvine, Calif.), who was second with a time of 5:15.01. Casey Hoffman (Burien, Wash.) came in third behind Cobb in 5:21.86. Pomar-Enders also placed second in the 1000 free in 10:48.31. Briley Boggs (Federal Way, Wash.) had a first-place finish for the women in the 100 butterfly with a time of 58.48.

On the men’s side, Jordan Anderson (Newberg, Ore.) had two first place finishes, one in the 100 butterfly in 50.77 and the other in the 50 freestyle in 20.81 to lead a one-two finish as Jeff Tibbals (Moscow, Idaho) came in behind him in 21.60. Murray Longbotham (Mercer Island, Wash.) placed first in the 200 freestyle in 1:42.24, James Gilmore (Eugene, Ore.) won the 400 IM with a time of 4:13.92, and Joe Wertz (Richland, Wash.) placed second behind him in 4:15.90.

In the 200 freestyle relays, Anderson, Tibbals, Keith Andrews (Hillsboro, Ore.), and Tyler Carriker (Everett, Wash.) swam for a first-place finish in 1:24.21.  Boggs, Tina Nguyen (Hillsboro, Ore.), Cobb, and Kelsey Henan (Billings, Mont.) finished second in the women’s race in 1:40.04.

The Redhawks will next face Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, beginning at noon local time on Saturday.
