The current and former Redhawks enjoyed an afternoon of softball together

The Seattle University softball program hosted their inaugural alumni game, bringing together former players and introducing them to the newest Redhawks. Both past and present SU players came together on Logan Field to enjoy a sunny Seattle day and play in a friendly softball game.

"It was a great to bring our past players together with our present Redhawks," said head coach Dan Powers. "It was a great showing our alumni and it showed how many our former players still support SU. Also it was great to see how much our family has grown over the past 10 years! Our program is relatively young, but our history is growing and we are looking forward to a bright future ahead."

Highlights from the game included seeing Jane Purdy '08 make a great play up the middle, showing she still has the game. Annette Woolley '02 dropped down two great bunts for base hits, not losing a step since her playing days. Mar Santos '06 hit a few rockets, showing she could still swing five years later. Amanda Niles '07 put charge into one that just missed the centerfield fence and Liz Meyer '05 tracked down a shot in the gap, making it look routine. Cassie Cueto '09 played shortstop for the first time in her career and Erin Martin's '08 arm was still throwing heat behind three innings of shutout ball.
