Idaho State only had two shots on goal, but they made them count as they snapped the Seattle University women's soccer team's four game win streak Thursday evening in Pocatello, Idaho. ISU defeated SU 2-1 after scoring a late second half go-ahead goal. With the loss, the Redhawks fall to 4-3, while the Bengals improve to 4-2-1.

In the first half, SU tallied six shots, including three on frame, but were denied by ISU goalkeeper Bailey Williams. Despite controlling the ball much of the half, the Bengal defense was able to read the pushing Redhawk offense and prevent a goal from being scored. As halftime neared Idaho State took a 1-0 lead in the 43rd minute. Laura Perez shot the ball over Seattle U goalkeeper Madison Goverde (Snohomish, Wash.) off a Randi Kendrick assist. The shot was one of only three by ISU in the half.

In the second half, Seattle U's offense controlled the shot count, outshooting Idaho State 7 to 5, with five on target. After struggling to get one of their shots into the back of the net, redshirt freshman Heather Thomas (Woodinville, Wash.) found Jordan Salisbury (Federal Way, Wash.) two yards out to even the score at 1-1.

After evening the score, the Seattle U backline had a late breakdown allowing the Bengals to capitalize. Kiley Godfrey's 78th minute shot hit the crossbar, came down and rolled into the goal before the SU defense could control it.

"We played okay, but struggled with the final product offensively," said head coach Julie Woodward. "Going forward we will look to bounce back at Boise State on Sunday."

Seattle U will square off with the Broncos of Boise State on Sunday, Sept. 12. First kick is slated for 12 noon PT.
