After leading the Seattle University volleyball team in kills over the weekend, junior Cristin Richards (Olympia, Wash.) was named to the all-tournament team at the Arizona State Sheraton Classic, announced at the conclusion of the tournament Saturday.

Richards posted 45 kills in the three matches, including 19 kills both in the Friday afternoon match against the host Sun Devils and the Friday evening five-set thriller against eventual tournament champion Utah State. She also notched her fourth and fifth double-doubles of the season in those two matches, accumulating 10 digs against Arizona State and 12 digs in the Utah State contest.

The junior outside hitter moved into the top five of Seattle U's all-time kills list, passing both Janeen Fitzgerald and Libby Graff to finish the weekend in fifth place with 789 career kills. She is averaging 4.29 kills and 3.08 digs per set so far this season for the Redhawks, plus she is second on the squad with six service aces and fourth on the team with 14 total blocks.

The Seattle University volleyball team, currently 2-4 in the 2010 season, will host the University of Oregon Monday, Sept. 6, beginning at 6 p.m. in the Connolly Center North Court. The team will then prepare for the San Jose State Tournament next weekend, where it will face the host Spartans as well as Cal State Northridge and Cal State Bakersfield.
