Andrew Tran (Portland, Ore.) earned a straight-set victory over Nathan Ramos in the number five singles position (6-1, 6-0). Playing his first career collegiate match, Yusuke Kanehira (Setagaya, Japan) rebounded from a first set loss to pull out a three-set victory over Luke Lagattuta in the number six singles slot (4-6, 6-2, 6-1).
Shkretbtan picked up a straight-set victory over Matthew Houser in the number one singles position (7-5, 6-2), while Meske defeated Michael Baumgartner in the number two singles slot, also in straight sets (6-4, 6-1). Shkretbtan and Meske combined to win the number one doubles match over Houser and Micah Mack, 8-4.
In the other singles matches, Willamette's Cody Ferguson defeated Patrick Boorkman (Bellevue, Wash.) in the number three position (6-4, 6-2), and Joshua Wong picked up a straight-set win over Adam Strizich (Helena, Mont.) in the number four slot (6-2, 6-1). In the number two doubles position, Ferguson and Wong defeated Boorkman and Strizich, 8-5. Willamette also won the number three doubles set as Baumgartner and Lagattuta defeated Zachary Williams (Spokane, Wash.) and Kyle Rapp (Encinitas, Calif.), 8-6.
Seattle University (1-2) continues its trip through Oregon Saturday, first facing Pacific University (Ore.) at 9 a.m. in Forest Grove, Ore., before traveling to Portland, Ore., to take on Lewis and Clark College at 1 p.m.
