Up Next for the Redhawks: After a great 60-51 win at home versus Longwood on Jan. 21, the Seattle University women's basketball team returns to the road to take on Cal State Fullerton (8-11, 4-3 Big West). Tip time is slated for 7 p.m. in Fullerton, Calif.

Last Time Out: The Redhawks (4-18) snapped an eight-game skid with a 60-51 victory over Longwood on Jan. 21. After suffering four straight setbacks to kick off the second half of the season, SU put it together for the full 40 minutes to earn their fourth win of the season.

Three players scored in double-figures, headlined by senior Ashley Brown, who put together one of her best performances of the season. She scored a team-best 22 points, and Tatiana Heck and Cassidy Murillo followed with 12 and 10 points, respectively.

On Deck: SU opens up the month of February at Eastern Washington on Wednesday, Feb. 3. Game time is set for 7:05 p.m. in Cheney, Wash.

Snap That Skid!: After a forgettable eight-game span, the Redhawks earned a 60-51 win over Longwood on Jan. 21, to get them back in the win column. The losing streak was the longest SU had sported since a 12-game skid during the 2002-03 season, when the team was still Division II.

Brown, Brown, Brown: Senior Ashley Brown had a standout game for SU versus Longwood on Jan. 21. The 5-11 forward scored a team-leading 22 points, but also grabbed down seven boards, and a pair of assists and steals each. She attacked the basket off drives, posted up and showed different parts of her game.

The game marked the 15th in 20 total games played that she scored in double-figures.

Looking For an Encore: After seeing the win column on Jan. 21, versus Longwood, the Redhawks will look to earn their first road win at Cal State Fullerton on Wednesday, Jan. 27. SU will look to prevent going another month without earning a "W".

Led by the Vets: Veterans Ashley Brown, Tatiana Heck and Cassidy Murillo headlined the SeattleU offense in their 60-51 victory over Longwood on Jan. 21. The trio of top scorers each scored in double-figures in the game and were instrumental in leading SU to victory.

Senior Brown scored a game-leading 22 points, followed by junior Heck, who had 12 points. Rounding out the threesome was senior Murillo, who tallied 10 points.

Scouting Cal State Fullerton: The Titans of Cal State Fullerton (8-11, 4-3 Big West) host the Redhawks following their 60-59 double overtime loss to UC Santa Barbara on Jan. 23. CSUF is currently on their own three-game losing streak, including two overtime losses in the past week.

Versus the Gauchos of UCSB, Megan Richardson led the offense with 16 points, followed by Lyndsey Grove and Mya Olivier, who each scored 11 points.

After going into halftime Fullerton was down by two points, but they battled back to even the score and send the game into extra minutes. In the first overtime period, both squads scored six points to send the game into a second overtime period, which Fullerton came up short by a point.

This season Cal State Fullerton has three players averaging double-figures, led by Richardson with 15.2 points. Grove has 13.7 points and Jasmine Scott is averaging 10.6 points. The team's leading rebounder is Jenna Breite, with 6.6 boards in 19 games.

Wednesday's meeting will be the first in program history for the Redhawks.

The comforts of home at the Connolly Center paid dividends for the Seattle University women's basketball team, as they defeated Longwood University 60-51 Thursday evening. The pieces fell into place for the Redhawks, who worked relentlessly all game to earn their fourth victory of the season and to snap a forgettable eight game skid.

A tactile, aggressive and sound SU squad was on the floor for the full 40 minutes. Ashley Brown had an outstanding game, going 9-for-18 from the field, including four three-pointers, to score a team-leading 22 points. She also added seven total boards, including six defensive rebounds, and tallied a pair of assists and steals in 35 minutes of play.

Also scoring in double-figures were Tatiana Heck, with 12 points, and Cassidy Murillo, who tallied 10 points on the day.
