In a rare ending to a very competitive meet, the Seattle University women's swim team tied Loyola Marymount 101.5 Wednesday afternoon in the Connolly Center Pool. The Redhawks were headlined by Marina Pomar-Enders, who garnered two first-place finishes on the day in the 500 and 1000 yard freestyle races.

In the 1000 yard free, the Redhawk freshman finished with a time of 10:43.65 to give SU their first top-finish on the day. She followed with a time of 5:18.61 for the top time in the 500 yard free.

Sophomore Hayley Cobb swam the 200 yard freestyle in a time of 1:57.32 to give SeattleU nine points and the first-place time. Two events later, Elizabeth Hanohano swam the 200 yard IM in a time of 2:13.52. It was her lone top finish on the day.

Rounding out SU's top-times versus LMU was sophomore Alexis Morehouse. She swam the 100 yard breaststroke in a time of 1:06.82. For the one-two finish, freshman Kevlyn Richards followed with a second-place time of 1:07.79.

"Our tie with LMU reflects the best in dual competitive spirits," said head coach Craig Mallery. "Each team is motivated for the win, where leads exchange throughout the competition and the meet outcome is well fought through the final events of the swim meet. LMU is a fast rising Division I program; they are extremely well coached and a rival in the best sense of sportsmanship."

The Redhawk women return to the Connolly Center Pool on Saturday, Jan. 16, to host Washington State. Meet time is slated for 11 a.m.
