Senior Ashley Brown was named SeattleU Thanksgiving Tournament MVP after leading the women's basketball team with 40 points on the weekend. The Kirkland, Wash. native scored a career high 23 points versus UW-Milwaukee to lead SU to their first victory of the season.

In addition to breaking her career high, she made five 3-point jumpers for the third consecutive game. Brown scored 17 points versus William and Mary, in the Redhawks' tournament opening game. In 59 total minutes of action on the weekend, she also tallied eight rebounds, a block and a steal.

Senior Cassidy Murillo was also named to the all-tournament team for her strong performance on the weekend. The Yakima, Wash. native scored eight points versus UW-Milwaukee and 14 points versus William and Mary. In 72 total minutes of play, she had 14 assists, nine rebounds and three steals.

Also receiving all-tournament honors were UW-Milwaukee's Ashley Imperiale and Lindsay Laur, and Taysha Pye from William and Mary.

The Redhawks (1-7) return to action on Tuesday, Dec. 1, to take on Pacific Lutheran in a 7 p.m. game at the Connolly Center.
