The SeattleU Thanksgiving Tournament: The Seattle University women's basketball team is set to host the SeattleU Thanksgiving Tournament from Friday, Nov. 27, to Sunday, Nov. 28. Slated to participate in the holiday tournament are host SeattleU, the University of South Alabama, UW-Milwaukee and William & Mary. Each team will face two opponents on the weekend.

This Week For the Redhawks: The women's basketball team remains home to host the Seattle University Thanksgiving Tournament from Friday, Nov. 27, to Sunday, Nov. 29. The Redhawks (0-6) will open up the weekend with William & Mary (2-2) on Saturday, Nov. 28. Tip time is set for 5 p.m. in the Connolly Center. SU will close out the weekend with UW-Milwaukee (3-1) the following afternoon, in a 1 p.m. game.

Last Time Out: The Redhawks saw a 10-point first half lead evaporate, as they fell 80-68 to Sacramento State on Nov. 25, at the Connolly Center. SeattleU looked poised to earn their first victory of the season and under first season head coach Joan Bonvicini, but they could not prevent CSUS from scoring 45 second half points. Senior Ashley Brown led the Redhawk offense with five 3-pointers to tally 17 points on the day. Brown and Maggie McCarthy each had nine rebounds, and Kourtney Parks led with four assists.

On Deck: SU will hit the floor on Sunday, Nov. 29, to take on UW-Milwaukee. Tip time is slated for 1 p.m. in the final game of the SeattleU Thanksgiving Tournament.

Its Raining Threes: Senior Ashley Brown's offensive game has been hot for SeattleU, as she drained down five 3-pointers versus Sacramento State on Nov. 25. She led the Redhawks with 17 points, two behind her career-high of 19. This season the Kirkland, Wash. native is averaging 28.0 points in 13.0 minutes of work. She has played in five of SU's six games this season, including four starts.

Uncharted Territory: The Redhawks will take on their fifth first-time opponent in William & Mary on Saturday, Nov. 28. Their last four games, Purdue (Nov. 20), Georgetown (Nov. 21), Dayton (Nov. 22) and Sacramento State (Nov. 25), have been have been versus first-time opponents. 

McCarthy's Got Hops: Forward Maggie McCarthy has proven to be a dominate asset in the post for the Redhawks this season. The 5-10 sophomore has brought down a team-leading 32 rebounds, including 20 defensive boards. She's averaging 5.3 rebounds in 28.5 minutes. The SeattleU second year player has started all six contests this season.

Looking For "W" Number One: The Redhawks are vying for victory number one this weekend at the SeattleU Thanksgiving Tournament. After a tough start to the 2009-10 campaign, SU looks to get on track and win column.

Scouting William & Mary: William & Mary travel to the West Coast riding a 2-2 overall record. Prior to traveling to Seattle, the Tribe fell 78-54 to Iowa. Taysha Pye led the WM offense with 18 points in 31 minutes of work and Katherine DeHenzel tallied seven defensive boards.

This season Pye leads William & Mary, averaging 13.8 points in 28.5 minutes on the floor. Emily Correal heads up the team's defensive efforts with 40 rebounds, including 30 defensive boards. DeHenzel has a team-leading 16 assists and Janine Aldridge has 10 steals.

This will be the first meeting between the Redhawks and the Tribe in program history.
