head men’s basketball coach Cameron Dollar has announced the addition of Darren Talley and Mike Jones to his staff as he continues the process of preparing for his first year as head coach.

Talley becomes an assistant coach at after serving on the staff of head men’s basketball coach Lorenzo Romar for the past five seasons, the last four as the team’s director of video operations. His primary responsibilities at included breaking down tape of opponents for scouting, practice, and game film of player development, coordinating film exchange with opponents, and coordinating daily practice management.

Talley was the director of the Lorenzo Romar Team Shootout for the past four summers and also assisted in the planning and execution of all other Romar summer basketball camps. He served with Romar on the staff that led the to the gold medal in the FIBA Americas U18 Championships in the summer of 2006.

Darren Talley is a tireless worker,” Dollar said. “He will do a fabulous job as a recruiter and a coach. He is one of the rising stars in the profession.”

Jones will serve as director of basketball operations under Dollar after spending the past three years as assistant athletic director at . Jones was the head men’s basketball coach at for two seasons after two stints as the assistant men’s basketball coach at the school.

Jones was Dollar’s top assistant coach at NAIA school Southern California College during the 1998-99 season. He rose to the college ranks from being an assistant at , , and early in his coaching career.

“We are extremely fortunate to have someone of Coach Jones’ experience and expertise join our staff. He is one of the finest men I have ever come into contact with. There is no job or situation that he cannot handle effectively,” said Dollar.

Dollar is expected to complete his staff with two more assistant coaches within the next couple of weeks. He took over the program in April after seven years as an assistant coach at the .
