Justin Goar (, ) and Kelsey Johnson (, ) finished at the top of the individual standings as the golf teams competed against the of and Sunday afternoon in a tri-match at Oakbrook Golf and Country Club.

Goar shot a 78 to finish in a tie with Pacific Lutheran’s Kyle Spitzer for first place on the men’s side. Kevin Ormiston (, ) shot 84 to finish in a tie for eighth place, while Travis Michael () posted a score of 87 to finish in 12th place. Alex Schultz (, ) and Kyle Finnegan ( Place, ) also competed for , finishing in a tie for 16th place.

Johnson shot the best score on both the front nine and back nine, combining scores of 40 and 41 for an 81 to finish two strokes ahead of teammate Caitlin McCleary (), who shot an 83. Dianne Alcantara () also earned a top-five placement, finishing in a tie for fourth with a score of 86. Michelle Grome (, ) and Kaitlin Soto each finished in a tie for tenth place during the single-round competition.

Thanks to five scores under 90, the women were able to defeat the SeattleU women in the team competition, 346 to 351, with Pacific Lutheran unable to field a full team. On the men’s side, Pacific Lutheran finished first with a combined score of 324, just ahead of ’s 327 and SeattleU’s 352.

The will conclude the 2008-09 season by hosting a competition at the Fort Lewis Golf Club in next week. Exact dates and times will be confirmed within the next couple of days.
