A five-inning no-hitter from Kelsey Reynolds (, ) and two home runs offensively allowed the Seattle University softball team to win the first game, 11-0, but Simon Fraser was able to recover and win the second game of Sunday’s doubleheader, 7-2, at Logan Field.

SeattleU jumped out quickly in the first inning of the opening game, as Jamie Foote () hit her sixth home run of the season. Foote then broke the game open in the third inning, hitting a bases-clearing double to centerfield that scored three runs, and she scored on a single by Hannah Klein () to give SeattleU a 5-0 advantage.

In the fourth inning, Foote was intentionally walked, but the fourth ball eluded Simon Fraser catcher Nicola Collicutt, allowing Jodie Schmehr () to score. After Lisa Hill (, ) was intentionally walked, Jessica Amador (, ) drew a bases-loaded walk that forced in Katie Petersen (). Klein proceeded to hit a grand slam over the leftfield fence, her first collegiate home run, to give the Redhawks an 11-0 lead.

Reynolds allowed only two walks in five innings, facing just one more batter than the minimum due to a double play in the second inning. The no-hitter is Reynolds’ second of her career, as she pitched a five-inning perfect game against Northwest Nazarene on March 9, 2007. It was the first no-hitter by a pitcher since Erin Martin hurled a perfect game at Northwest Nazarene on March 14, 2008.

In the second game, Schmehr drew a bases-loaded walk in the second inning that forced in Hill and gave SeattleU the early lead. Simon Fraser would take the lead for good with two runs in the third inning, and the Clan pulled away with four runs in the fifth inning, all with two outs and all of them unearned thanks to two SeattleU errors.

SeattleU threatened in the bottom of the fifth inning, starting with consecutive singles by Katie Antich (), Petersen, and Foote, but Antich was thrown out at home trying to score on Foote’s single. A single by Hill scored Petersen, but a flyout and a popout ended the Redhawk threat. In the seventh inning, Simon Fraser (17-10) would add a run as Stefani Durrant doubled and scored on a single by Haley Cicchetti.

Jennifer Van Egdom earned the victory for Simon Fraser, scattering nine hits and two walks while striking out one batter in a complete-game effort. Klein took the loss for SeattleU, giving up 12 hits and three walks while striking out two Clan batters.

Seniors Foote and Hill combined to go 6-for-9 with three walks, five runs scored, and five runs batted in during the doubleheader, while Klein went 3-for-7 with a run scored and five runs driven in. In the second game, Cicchetti was 4-for-4 with two runs batted in, while Christine Barr, Stefani Durrant, and Jessie Harris each earned two hits for the Clan.

Before the doubleheader, Foote, Hill, Cassie Cueto (, ), and Heather Hansen () were honored in Senior Day ceremonies.
