The softball team took advantage of several mistakes by the , plus received solid pitching efforts in both games, to sweep Monday’s doubleheader, 8-0 and 4-0, at Logan Field.

In the second inning of the first game, loaded the bases on two walks and a fielding error. An infield single by Peggy Mathison (, ) allowed Lisa Hill (, ) to score, and a single by Cassie Cueto () scored Lauren Berin (Lacey, Wash.) and Jessica Amador (Whittier, Calif.). After another error, Mathison scored on a passed ball, followed by a bases-loaded walk to Jamie Foote () that forced in Cueto.

After a single run in the third inning, ended the first contest in the fifth as Amador led off with a triple, followed by an infield single by Sandra Hernandez (). As Hernandez stole second base, the catcher’s throw was off-target, allowing Amador to come in from third base. Two more errors allowed SeattleU to score the eighth and final run of the game.

Kelsey Reynolds () set down the first 12 Lady Yote hitters in order before Stacy Smith led off the fifth inning with a solid single to right field. Reynolds finished with five strikeouts in picking up her fifth victory of the season. Jody Zillner took the loss for , allowing five hits, five walks, and eight total runs while striking out four batters.

Katie Antich () led off the second game with a double and scored on a single by Foote. In the third inning, Antich again led off with a hit, a bunt single, followed by a single from Katie Petersen () and a walk by Foote to load the bases. Berin hit a single to left field that scored Antich and Petersen, and a sacrifice fly by Hill allowed Foote to score.

Hannah Klein () scattered five hits in picking up a complete game shutout, striking out seven Lady Yote batters without walking anybody. Brooke Judy earned the loss for the , allowing eight hits and two walks while striking out four Redhawk batters.

(12-15) heads to , , for a four-game series against future conference opponent , with doubleheaders scheduled for Friday, April 10, at 12 p.m. and Saturday, April 11, at 10 a.m. local time. The team returns home next week for doubleheaders against Wednesday, April 15, at 3 p.m. and against Simon Fraser Sunday, April 19, at 2 p.m.
