Seattle University took seven runners to the Stanford University Invitational which was held over Friday and Saturday, getting quality times from each runner.
The first day of competition began with Katie Hansen (Portland, Ore.) competing in the 5000 meter. Hansen finished her section four race in a time of 17:45.42, which placed her 19th. In the 100 meters, Jim Mezzera (San Francisco, Calif.) finished his preliminary with a time of 11.25.
Rachel Vranizan (Portland, Ore.) finished the 400m hurdles in a time of 69.09, which placed her fourth in her heat. Running the 400m hurdles for the men was Daniel Sullivan (Tukwila, Wash.). Sullivan finished second in his heat with a time of 54.16. Finishing day one action, Tom Mezzera (San Francisco, Calif.) placed third in his 400 meter heat with a time of 48.73.
On the second day of action, Seattle University runners continued to perform well, competing in two relays and the 200 meters. The team of Sullivan, Jim Mezzera, Zach Stanfield (Adna, Wash.), and Christopher Fussell (Las Vegas, Nev.) posted a time of 42.62 in the 4x100 relay. In the 200 meters, Fussell recorded a time of 22.06 and Stanfield posted a time of 22.42. In the 4x400 relay it was Sullivan, Stanfield, Fussell, and Tom Mezzera posting a time of 3:24.28.
The Seattle University track team will return to action April fourth and fifth at the Willamette Invite in Salem, Oregon. The starting times will be announced at later time.
