Hansen once again broke her own school record in the 3000m with a new top time of 9:56.51. Hansen had set the previous school record in the event just two weeks ago at the UW Indoor Preview. The 4x400 team of Elizabeth Wolf (Albuquerque, N.M.), Clare Obradovich (Tigard, Ore.), Elena Collins (Eugene, Ore.), and Rachel Purcell (Mission Viejo, Calif.) also broke the old school record of 4:08.75 with an eighth place finishing time of 4:07.61.In the women’s high jump, Mara Becker (Fairbanks, Alaska) turned in a best jump of 1.53m (18th place).

On the men’s side, the 4x400 team of Daniel Sullivan (Tukwila, Wash.), Christopher Fussell (Las Vegas, Nev.), Tom Mezzera (San Francisco, Calif.), and Zach Stanfield (Adna, Wash.) finished seventh in a time 3:22.41 which broke the old mark of 3:25.31. In the 60m, Jim Mezzera (San Francisco, Calif.) finished in a time of 7.17. Mezzera also competed in the 200m with a time of 22.96, which won his heat and placed him 21st overall. Ty Jaros (Eugene, Ore.) finished in ninth position in the long jump after turning in his best jump of 6.36m.

“The performances by each student-athlete who ran tonight were fantastic.  It's truly exciting to see how well people are doing at this point in the season.  What the people running tonight did is an indication of what's happening throughout the team.  The entire team is stepping up their game and helping us move as a program, not just as individuals, to the next level.  I'm really proud of our team,” said head coach Trisha Steidl.

Seattle University will next compete at the Pilot Indoor in Portland, Ore. on February 6.
