head men’s basketball coach Joe Callero has announced that two players have signed National Letters of Intent to come to and join the men’s basketball program beginning in the 2009-10 academic year.

Ben Eisenhardt is a 6’10”, 215-lb. center currently attending in Last season he was a second team all-league selection after averaging 13 points, eight rebounds, and two blocks per game.

“Ben is a unique student-athlete. At 6’10”, he can run and shoot like a 6’3” guard. He will be versatile and enjoyable to watch develop over the next five years,” Callero said.

Alex Jones is a 6’8”, 215-lb. forward from , , currently enrolled at . Jones, a graduate of , will be a junior when he joins the program next season.

“Alex is a diamond on and off the court,” said Callero. “He grew four inches while attending (Scottsdale Community) College in . He has good foot speed and can rebound and block shots at the D1 level.”

Seattle University begins the 2008-09 season Saturday, Nov. 15, by hosting Chico State in the second game of the Elgin Baylor Classic at the Connolly Center beginning at approximately 4 p.m. Tickets are also on sale through Ticketmaster for the January 1 game at KeyArena at the Seattle Center between Seattle University and Loyola Marymount, the first Division I home game for SeattleU in almost 29 years.
