Justin Goar shot even-par 72 to finish in a tie for 25th place as three members of the Seattle University golf team concluded play Saturday in the Viking Invitational hosted by Western Washington University at the Bellingham Golf and Country Club.
Goar made six birdies during his round Saturday, finishing with a two-day score of 147 (+3), just four strokes behind the top ten golfers. He finished with ten birdies in the tournament, tied for second among all golfers. Thomas Jun of Western Washington shot his second straight 69 to take the individual title with a two-day total of 138 (-6).
Kevin Ormstead struggled a little bit during the second round, but did notch one of the tournament's two eagles during his 18 holes on Saturday. Brady Kameshige also wrapped up his first tournament for Seattle University, gaining important experience for the future.
The Seattle University men's golf team will have a couple of weeks for practice before heading for a tournament hosted by the University of Victoria on Oct. 13-14.
