Several members of the cross country teams received their first experience of competing against Division I opposition as the Redhawks participated in the invitational events at the Sundodger Invitational, hosted by the of Saturday morning at .

Rustin Winger (, ) was the top finisher for the men’s team, posting a time of 27:44 to finish in 93rd place. Chris Auld (, ) finished in 96th place in 28:31, followed by his brother Dan Auld () in 29:00. Alec Adams (, ) was next in 98th place with a time of 29:10, and Alex Poplawski () crossed the finish line in 100th place in 30:41.

On the women’s side, Sarah Bolce (, ) led the way for the Redhawks, finishing in 74th place with a time of 24:21, followed closely by Celeste Cassidy () in 75th place in 24:24. Rhiannon Cadelinia (, ) posted a time of 24:28 for 77th place, with Natalie Martinez (, ) the next runner in 81st place in 24:33.

Julia Miller (, ) finished in 89th place with a time of 25:03, while Jennifer Innes () finished in 93rd place in 25:17. Haley McGoldrick (, ) posted a time of 26:02, followed by teammates Kerianne Quiocho (, ), who finished in 26:03, and Ashley Dalton (), who posted a time of 26:07.

The men finished in tenth place with 318 points, while the women finished in ninth place with 265 points. The of won both the men’s and women’s team competitions, with representatives from UC Davis, Oregon State, , , Gonzaga, Saint Mary’s, and also competing.

The top runners from the cross country teams head to for the 23rd annual Roy Griak Invitational, hosted by the of in The event is next Saturday, Sept. 27, with the Division I races starting at 12:10 p.m. and 12:55 p.m. local time.
