’s Leading Goal Scorer is Rewarded for her Outstanding Season

In a season where Leah Wymer (Bothel, Wash.) scored 17 goals and moved up to a tie for second on ’s all-time goal scoring list with 44, she was named Second Team All-American by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

Wymer, who scored 27 goals in her first three seasons at took her goal scoring to a prolific level this year finishing tied for the GNAC lead with 17.

Along with her All-America honor, Wymer was named First Team All-Far West Region. She is joined on the team by Ashley Porter (, ) and Madison Collins (). Kate Edstrom (Portland, Ore.) was named Second Team All-Far West Region by the NSCAA.

Porter who was a First Team All-American last season tied her own GNAC record for assists in a season with 14. She also set the GNAC career assists record with 48, which tied the career record. Collins was the anchor of the defense that allowed just nine goals all season. Edstrom also played a key role in the defense while also moving forward into the offense for a goal and four assists.

finished the season ranked #18 by the NSCAA after a tough shootout loss to Cal State Los Angeles in the second round of the postseason tournament. The Redhawks entered the tournament ranked #10, but dropped after the 0-0 match, where was eliminated in penalty kicks.
