The Seattle University women’s basketball team shot 65.1 percent from the field, including 64.7 percent from the three-point line, and forced 25 turnovers as it cruised to a 103-39 victory over Notre Dame de Namur Friday night on the first day of the third annual Dave Cox Classic at the Connolly Center.

The early portion of the first half was close, as a three-pointer by Notre Dame de Namur’s Ashley Wilson cut the lead to 18-15 ten minutes into the game. exploded offensively, finishing the half on a 34-4 run, making 15 of its final 20 field goal attempts of the first half.

Eight players scored at least eight points for SeattleU, led by Kamrica Ary-Turner ( Way, ) and Quinn Brewe (), who scored 15 points each. Ary-Turner shot 6-of-8 from the field, while Brewe was 5-of-5 from the field and 5-of-6 from the free throw line. Laina Sobczak ( Place, ) earned 14 points, seven rebounds, and four assists, and Leah Stepovich () hit all four of her field goal attempts, including two three-pointers, to contribute ten points off the bench.

With three baskets from behind the three-point line, Alysse Carlson (, ) earned nine points, as did Chelsie Morrison (). Cassidy Murillo (, ) notched eight points, seven assists, and five rebounds, while Emily Mothershed () also scored eight points plus grabbed four rebounds. SeattleU made 41-of-63 shots from the field, including 11-of-17 three-point attempts, as it notched its first 100-point game since January 14, 1994.

Jennifer Dreessen led Notre Dame de Namur (0-4) with nine points and five rebounds. While prospered offensively, the Argonauts struggled, shooting only 29.8 percent from the field, including only 2-of-16 shots from behind the three-point line. won the rebounding battle, 37-22, and earned 23 assists while committing only ten turnovers, by far the lowest turnover total of the season.

In the first game of the Dave Cox Classic, (5-0) defeated Hawaii Pacific (0-2) for the second time in three nights, 76-60. Shaina Afoa earned a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds, while Jenn Jacobs scored 14 points and Hanna Hull contributed ten points and eight rebounds. Nikki Jordan led Hawaii Pacific with 17 points, and Ashley Jenkins earned 15 points, seven rebounds, and two steals.

(5-0) looks to finish its five-game homestand on a solid note Saturday, facing Hawaii Pacific in the fourth and final game of the Dave Cox Classic. That game is scheduled to tip off at 5 p.m., after faces Notre Dame de Namur at 3 p.m.
