Kelsey Henan achieves a “B” Standard in the 1650 Meter Freestyle

The swim team swam well in the prelims of Day 3 of the Husky Invitational at the King County Aquatics on Saturday morning. The Redhawks then decided to forgo the finals and head for home with fear of being stuck in due to the snow storm.

A day after nabbing several “A” and “B” standards, got one more, this time from Kelsey Henan. swam a time of 18:01.36 in the 1650 freestyle to finish 24th.

Also swimming well was Gordon Smith, who swam a season best time of 47.36 seconds in the 100 freestyle.  Smith just missed the national “B” Standard of 47.06 seconds.

Doug Djang also just missed a national “B” Standard in the 200 breastroke when he swam a time of 2:11.39.

With three days of swimming against elite D-I competition Seattle improved on many of its top times of the season as well as qualifying four male swimmers for nationals in Missouri.

will next swim Saturday, January 12 at in for a dual meet with the Pirates.
