Leah Wymer (, ) and Kahlyn Keilty-Lucas (, ) each earned a goal and an assist to lead the 11th-ranked women’s soccer team to a 4-0 victory over Saint Martin’s Sunday afternoon in GNAC action at .
The match was scoreless until the 39th minute, when Wymer attacked the net. Her first shot hit the crossbar, but the ball rebounded back between her and Kara Kuttler (), with the two forwards attempting to rebound the ball. Wymer succeeded, beating goalie Breanna Klasen for her 16th goal of the season.
Just 1:37 into the second half, increased its lead, as Keilty-Lucas’ shot was stopped by Klasen, but Kuttler hustled for the rebound and sent it home for her fifth goal of the year. In the 56th minute, Wymer set up Keilty-Lucas for a goal, and Megan Fogarty (, ) closed the scoring with two minutes remaining in the match on a breakaway play started by a pass from Madison Collins ().
Saint Martin’s (2-15, 1-10 GNAC) stayed in the match thanks to 15 saves by Klasen, as outshot the Saints 29-1. Kaitlyn Jackson () only needed to make one save in picking up her 12th shutout of the season, as the Redhawks move within one of the school record of 13 shutouts set in 1996 and tied in 2004. has already matched its win total (15) and shutout total (12) from last season.
Seattle University (15-2, 10-1 GNAC) heads across town to Interbay Stadium for a key conference and regional match against undefeated Seattle Pacific Wednesday, Oct. 24, beginning at 7 p.m. The Redhawks return to Championship Field Saturday, Oct. 27, to host Northwest Nazarene beginning at 12 noon.
