Jason Cascio Named GNAC Player of the Week
Cascio earns honor after a hat trick versus ’s
Jason Casio was named GNAC Player of the week after netting his first career hat trick against ’s on Sunday. Cascio’s three goals give him ten for the season and 28 for his career.
Cascio scored 16 goals last season on the way to being named GNAC Player of the Year. This season he was on a slower pace, until his last two games where he has scored five goals. In addition to the three versus ’s, Cascio scored both goals in a 2-1 win over Seattle Pacific on October 13.
Cascio was a starting defender for the Redhawks his first two seasons at before being moved to forward last year. He has excelled in the role and has moved all the way into a tie for sixth on the all-time goals list with 28.
Cascio is currently second in the GNAC with his ten goals and also second in points with 23. Sam Charles of Montana State Billings leads the GNAC with 18 goals and 38 points.
Four of Cascio’s goals this season have been game winners for the #5 ranked Redhawks. His biggest goal might have been the game-winner against Seattle Pacific, which came in overtime to give the win over their cross town rival.
