Senior Leah Wymer () became the fourth Seattle University women’s soccer player to reach 100 career points, scoring 18 minutes into the match as the Redhawks held on to defeat Central Washington, 1-0, Sunday afternoon in GNAC action at Championship Field.

Kate Edstrom () sent a long pass that fell behind the Wildcat defense as Wymer caught up to the ball. Wymer dribbled in alone and sent her shot past goalie Amber Easterbrook. It was Wymer’s 15th goal of the season and enabled her to join Trisha Tateyama, Ingrid Gunnestad, and Nichole Sauvageau as members of ’s 100-point club. The tally was Wymer’s 42nd of her career, just two behind Gunnestad and three behind Sauvageau on ’s all-time goals list.

had an excellent chance to increase its lead late in the first half, as Ashley Porter () was taken down inside the Wildcat box. Jasmine Wilson (SeaTac, Wash.) decided to go high with her penalty kick chance, but her shot hit the crossbar and bounced back to her. ’s second attempt was stopped by Easterbrook, ending the scoring chance.

In the second half, the Redhawks continued to pressure the Wildcat defense, taking 13 shots after halftime. Easterbrook kept her team in the match, making six saves, including second-half saves on point-blank chances by Wymer and Kahlyn Keilty-Lucas ().

Central Washington (6-8-2, 3-6-0 GNAC) threatened to tie the match late in the second half, as a shot by Danielle Monson with just over two minutes remaining got by goalie Kaitlyn Jackson (, ) but was sent away by Mickey Pelland (). The Wildcats could not convert on a corner kick opportunity, and one last shot by Shawnna Chastain on a free kick was collected by Jackson, who finished with three saves in picking up her tenth shutout of the season.

(13-2, 8-1 GNAC) begins a three-match road swing Friday, Oct. 19, traveling to , to face Western Oregon beginning at 3 p.m. After matches at ’s and Seattle Pacific, the Redhawks return home Saturday, Oct. 27, to face Northwest Nazarene at Championship Field beginning at 12 noon.
